The Great New Zealand Food Show is back for 2021 at the Claudelands Event Centre from 1-2 May and promises a fantastic day out filled with food, fun and flavour.
Event favourites returning for 2021 include the Heathcotes Cooking Theatre, Mystery Bag Cook-off, the HLIVE Seat & Eat and the popular Seafood Bazar How To area. New to the event this year is the Wholesome Hub as well as an array of Masterclasses supported by Volare Bread that are aimed at educating and inspiring foodies of all types.
Event Managing Director Ammie Hardie says the line-up this year is sure to inspire foodies of all sorts, “We are really excited to have such a talented group of chefs and foodies that are passionate about creating delicious and nutritious dishes.”
“The show is sure to be a fantastic day out with family and friends sampling the latest foods, wines and delicious products – it’ll be a real culinary celebration!” says Hardie.
Star chefs presenting in the Heathcotes Cooking Theatre include author and host Peta Mathias, food writer Nici Wickes, and local chefs Brad King from Falls Retreat, Belinda MacDonald of Flavourbomb, Mat McLean from Palette, Maurice Montero from Mr Pickets Bar & Eatery and Caryn Ha from the Chilli House who will also offer delicious dishes to be inspired by.
The newly developed Wholesome Hub will feature inspiring talks from nutritionists, wellness warriors and passionate foodies with topics including cooking with no waste, vegan dishes and gut health. Social media sensation and Keto queen Elle Herself is joined by plant-based nutritionist Buffy Ellen and local raw baker Lydia Davis of Little S&P.
The masterclasses also provide opportunities for participants to roll up their sleeves and learn from the experts on Thai cooking, blending wine, cake decorating, and more.
Visitors will also get the opportunity to peruse through an incredible array of food and beverage exhibitors selling local delicacies to suit the finest of foodies.
Covid may have stopped the Show in 2020, but we’re back bigger and tastier than ever, says Ammie. The team can’t wait to showcase everything amazing about the Waikato region, alongside a star-studded line-up of celebrity chefs and presenters.
